This virtual program is part of the Society to Preserve the Millvale Murals of Maxo Vanka's mission to save and share the one-of-a-kind murals by immigrant artist Maxo Vanka in St. Nicholas Croatian Catholic Church in Millvale, and to connect the artist's message to contemporary society and issues. The 90-minute program includes an interactive Q&A session. Only one registration required per household.

Discover Maxo Vanka and the history of the Vanka Murals, and travel inside the Sanctuary of St. Nicholas with a 360 Virtual Tour. Anna will tell us more about how the Society works to save and share the Vanka Murals today through its tour program and conservation efforts and the inspiration for Gift to America 2.0: New Voices. New Walls.
Gift to America 2.0: New Voices. New Walls. is currently on exhibit in the Gumberg Library at Duquesne University through October 10th. It includes original work by four local artists: Christiane Dolores, Max "Gems" Gonzales, Maggie Negrete and Cue Perry reflecting on the themes of justice, injustice, immigrant experience and motherhood. The project is curated by Corey Carrington, Deeper Than Grits Studios
Admission is free. Registration is required.
