"Table Talk" is a conversation with experts working to enhance and grow the Vanka Murals' mission to save and share the one-of-a-kind murals of immigrant artist Maxo Vanka in St. Nicholas Croatian Catholic Church in Millvale and to continue to connect the artist's message to contemporary society and issues. Every virtual presentation via Zoom Webinar will include a compelling conversation with one or more panelists on a topic related to the themes of Maxo Vanka's Murals. The 60-minute program includes an interactive Q&A session. Only one registration required per household.
Monday, February 8th @ 6:30PM (ZOOM Webinar)
Presented in collaboration with Hemispheric Conversations Urban Art Project (HCUAP) at the University of Pittsburgh, this month's program will convene participants in the Golden Cage Portfolio Project, a project curated by Artist Image Resource that uses print activism to explore themes of boutique capitalism, racism, and the need for public voice in Pittsburgh and nationally. Participating artists will discuss their work in the project and its larger themes as it relates to art and visual culture as a means to challenge intersecting forms of oppression in Pittsburgh, nationally, and globally.
The program is free but registration is required. Donations to support the Vanka Murals mission including this program are greatly appreciated and may be added to your registration.
